Barefoot

I walked barefoot by the river’s waters
I felt the cold rocks underneath my feet.
I felt each step.
I was afraid to fall.

YOU cut my breath in two with each step.
YOU looked at me and held my hand.
YOU move agile through the stones and the riverbed.

MY heart is running as I hold your hand.
MY feet begin to feel rooted in every step.
MY dress is light, it isn’t holding me back anymore.

I trust YOUR hand and its plans for me.
I rest in the Universal breath.

I feel.
I feel, and I am not afraid.
